Projects
Govt. of Odisha has identified several projects as critical for the development of Railway infrastructure in the State from the point of view of Industrial development and providing connectivity between important commercial and cultural hubs. For some of these projects, PET survey has also been carried out by Railways but these have not been sanctioned so far.
In the first phase, ORIDL has identified following projects for undertaking the Traffic Study and Financial Appraisal:
(i) Brahmapur – Phulbani – Sambalpur New Line
(ii) Junagarh – Nabarangpur
(iii) Rajathgarh – Kaipadar Road Bypassing Bhubaneswar
(iv) Bargarh Road – Nuapada
(v) Banspani – Barbil
(vi) Buramara – Chakulia New Line
Based on the Traffic Studies, Ministry of Railways have granted In-Principle approval for undertaking pre-investment activities for Brahmapur – Sambalpur new railway line and Rajathgarh – Kaipadar Road new railway line bypassing Bhubaneswar. The Final Location Survey for these two projects is in progress.
Other projects are under various stages of evaluation.
